Chena is a handful. She's a loud dog with a distinct uncouth side. But she never slacks up in harness, and she's never shown any willingness to quit. She ran the last 100 miles of Can-Am 2007 in lead quite nicely, with minimal prior leading experience.

Loke

There aren't enough good things I can say about this dog. He's my main leader, completely dependable, and every time I haven't had him in lead in a race, I've regretted it. He's run every race I've been in since I got him, and will likely continue to do so for a long time. He recently sired two pups, Chevelle and the Ghost, from a breeding with Ninilchik.

Turtle

Turtle is named for her habit of hiding in the dog house whenever someone new comes to visit. Despite being a shy dog, she's a very serious leader, with an incredible work ethic. Turtle is a small girl, but you'd never know it by what she puts on the line.

Mr. Magoo

Mr. Magoo came to the kennel last year. His mouth kept me from sleeping for quite a while. Magoo is a friendly fellow, predisposed to screwing around and digging holes in the dog lot. He is a very smooth running dog, and finished the Can-Am 250 in excellent shape despite his lack of any real race experience from prior years. He's been making the team ever since.

Ninilchik

Ninilchik is a complete sweetheart - she's a quiet, fawning dog who likes nothing more than a pat on the side for a job well done. Ninilchik is an honest dog in harness, and it's difficult to tire her out. She whelped two pups, Chevelle and the Ghost, sired by Loke.

Niklas

Niklas is an annoying dog, especially at hookup time. Mouthy and loud. He's also a good command leader, so he's forgiven on every count. Always made the team. A friendly dog, he likes attention from everyone.

Bonzo

Bonzo is a quiet dog that keeps to himself... in the dog lot. At hookup time, he's a raving maniac. Every single time the team stops, his voice is heard within 5 seconds, screaming to go.

Lev

For the record, I did not name this dog. JP Norris and Kari Skogen named him after me, and he ended up at Team Ollie. Lev hasn't been cut from any race team for any reason, and 2008 saw him in lead. He was a big help at Race to the Sky in 2008, pulling me out of every checkpoint screaming to go.

Idun

Idun is new to the kennel, and she has already redefined the concept of a good eater for me. I don't think I've ever seen another dog so motivated to eat absolutely everything. Fortunately, she's got the same attitude about work, and she's showing me leading potential.

Leroy

We bought Leroy from Seeley Lake 200 and Race to the Sky winner Tom Thurston to plug a hole on the 08 Can-Am 250 Team. Leroy is a wonderful dog, friendly and hard-working, and despite not being a Siberian, we like him anyway.

The Soul of Team Ollie

Ollie
As far as I'm concerned, Ollie is the most important dog in the world. He is my first dog, and he is my best friend, my brother, my savior and salvation. I raised him from a pup, and he is very much a son to me. Ollie is a lovable, beautiful, active dog, and I love him dearly.

Despite his terrible conformation, Ollie enjoys running in harness, and does so on a regular basis... when he's not too busy warming the bed.

Shadow
Shortly after Ollie came Shadow. She's a rescue dog from somewhere in Canada. and Maureen Marcoux of Kryska Siberians picked her and a few others up when a kennel up there closed up. Shadow is a gentle, sweet, very loving dog with a devious streak. In her later years, she still enjoys a training run or two, but is far more fond of sleeping on the couch.

Kheddar
After Shadow came Kheddar, a dog from Kryska Siberians loaned to me so I can have a "bigger" team. She ended up living here, and I won't part with her. Kheddar, or Cheesy, as she's affectionality known around here, is a red dog, but I can get over my embarrasment of having one on the premises since she's such a lovable thing. She's very eager to please, good with everybody, and is a general pleasure to have around.

The Ghost

Our very own perpetual motion machine - the Ghost incredibly friendly to everyone, and thinks the world is his oyster. As a pup, he was always the first in his litter to explore a little farther, and push the limits a little more. Now that he's a year old, he's shown us very consistent drive and an incredibly fluid gait. He is a very exciting (and excitable) dog, and we're expecting very big things from him.

Chevelle

Chevelle is a sweet dog, and reminds us very much of her sire Loke. She's got a mountain of drive and an appetite to match. As a yearling right now, she's showing focus to match the experienced dogs, and we look forward to what she'll show us in years to come!

Texas

Everything is bigger in Texas, and this boy is no exception. He's was early to mature physically, and got big in a hurry. Texas is a very affectionate dog, and he always greets the kennel visitors with a wagging tail.

Omaha

Our little Omaha isn't as big as Texas, but let me tell you, she is unstoppable. When we harness broke her at 6 months of age, the drive was astounding - we were pretty impressed with what we saw. She was banging the harness her first time out, charged hills like a demon, and refused to stop. She's on her way to the front of the team, and she's gonna let you KNOW it!

Hazel

Hazel came to the kennel from Janet Whitesell and Michael Kane of Black Hole Kennels, then of Montana. She's a very sweet little girl who's capable of big things, but don't bother telling her since she's clearly too busy daydreaming about dinner. Hazel has completed multiple races, including Can-Am 250 in 2007. Her main job now is leading the puppy team and sleeping under our desk.

Kasee

Kasee was originally bred at KRAKEN kennel in Ontario. She is a little spitfire, and leaps straight up in the air when it's time to take off. Spectators have mentioned her level of motivation to me more than once. Kasee completed multiple 100-mile races. Kasee's main job in life now is puppy training and getting too much attention.
