Texas(2007)
Ollie's Texas
They say everything is bigger in Texas... and this boy certainly fills out his name.
Texas is a very affectionate dog, and he always greets the kennel visitors with a wagging tail. Harnessed up, this monster can be a handful, akin to driving a barking freight train.
Alaskan's Cowboy of Anadyr
Alaskan's Idun of Anadyr
Ensign(2008)
Ollie's Ensign
Ensign is an all white hurricane. A speedy little bugger, she's a hard worker and a loudmouth. Reminds us very much of Idun in attitude.
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Alaskan's Idun of Anadyr
Omaha(2007)
Ollie's Omaha
This little screwball just keep on going and going. A crazy little powerhouse, she's gifted with a clean effortless gait. And she's oh-so-very-LOUD.
Omaha's a young one, but is steadily making her way to the front of the team.
Alaskan's Cowboy of Anadyr
Alaskan's Idun of Anadyr
Pride(2009)
.
The crazy giant. Pride is the biggest of the nine Sin pups. Large, goofy, and incredibly athletic. He shrugs off six hour runs as a warm-up even as a two year old. A dog with a really bright future and a really large head.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Special
Greenie(2008)
Ollie's Greenie
A female from the whiskey litter, the Green Dog doesn't seem to have an off switch. She's always seeking attention, and aggressively so. But after we harness broke her, she was all business. All the drive of her parents, but with a unique streak of insanity.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Faraday(2008)
Ollie's Faraday
One of the physicist girlies, Faraday is the most stubborn dog we've ever come across. Fortunately we were able to channel it in the right direction ie. straight ahead. That stubborn streak keeps her pulling hard.
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Chena of Nome
Admiral(2008)
Ollie's Admiral
The Admiral is one of our boys from the horse litter. A sweet bouncy boy in the dog lot, and a complete lunatic in harness. I've been known to wear earplugs if we're hooking him up.
One day Admiral was so raring to go, I decided to hook him up front on a whim. He did so well, he got spot in the regular leader rotation. The drive that boy's got is really something!
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Alaskan's Idun of Anadyr
Tesla(2008)
Ollie's Tesla
This is our live wire - Tesla is a little dynamo. She's got everything her mother had, but in a smaller package. Good appetite, good drive, and very loud. A common theme with the Chena pups.
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Chena of Nome
Johnnie(2008)
Ollie's Johnnie
One of the whiskey boys, with his brother Walker (of course!) Johnnie is the spitting image of Loke... we used to call him "Little Loke", but he's the size of his old man now.
He's a shockingly calm dog. Quiet at hookup and mealtime, he's all business in harness. A pure pleasure to work with.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik
Chevelle(2007)
Ollie's Chevelle
A jumpy little girl who's turning into the leader her daddy is. All the drive is there, maybe needs a little more fine tuning.
Chevelle is a shy one, but will drive past anything on the trail, like her brother the Ghost. We adore her, and look forward to a successful future for her.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Feynman(2008)
Ollie's Feynman
Feyman is batshit crazy. Loud, incredibly obnoxious, and has the energy of a bear... that has the energy of TWO bears. Another dog you need earplugs for at hookup.
And he more than makes up for it. An incredibly hard-driving animal with an astounding appetite. Not the biggest boy in the kennel, but easily one of the strongest.
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Chena of Nome
Walker(2008)
Ollie's Walker
Brother to Johnnie (who else?), the other boy from the whiskey litter. Smooth in gait, he just keeps his head down and works. He's been all business in harness, like Johnnie, and showing serious talent. Along with all his littermates, actually all the Loke X Ninilchik pups, he's been in the regular leader rotation, and took to it quite well.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Goldie(2008)
Ollie's Goldie
One of the whiskey girlies, named after my favorite blend. She's frighteningly driven in harness. She did some racing in shorter distances, and showed incredible aptitude as a yearling. She took a little slower to running up front, but once the confidence kicked in, so did the drive. Lots of potential is this girlie.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Bluie(2008)
Ollie's Bluie
Another whiskey female, the Blue Dog (or Blue Devil, depending on what she's up to) is a pint-size package of energy that never ceases to amaze us. Just non-stop motion. She'll probably calm down a little as she gets older, but I'm not holding my breath.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Ollie(2001)
.
As far as I'm concerned, Ollie is the most important dog in the world. He is my first dog, and he is my best friend, my brother, my savior and salvation. I raised him from a pup, and he is very much a son to me. Ollie is a lovable, beautiful, active dog, and I love him dearly. Despite his terrible conformation, Ollie enjoys running in harness, and does so on a regular basis... when he's not too busy warming the bed.
Shadow(1997)
.
Shortly after Ollie came Shadow. She's a rescue dog from somewhere in Canada. and Maureen Marcoux of Kryska Siberians picked her and a few others up when a kennel up there closed up. Shadow is a gentle, sweet, very loving dog with a devious streak. In her later years, she still enjoys a training run or two, but is far more fond of sleeping on the couch. And chasing the cat.
Kheddar(2002)
.
After Shadow came Kheddar, a dog from Kryska Siberians loaned to me so I can have a "bigger" team. She ended up living here, and I won't part with her. Kheddar, or Cheeseball, as she's affectionality known around here, is a red dog, but I can get over my embarrasment of having one on the premises since she's such a lovable thing. She's very eager to please, good with everybody, and is a general pleasure to have around.
Rudie(2009)
Ollie's Rudie
Mel made Rudie into a house pet not long after he was whelped, as he is disgustingly cute.
Sharp as a whip, and has all the energy of his littermates. A fearless and confident pup, he'll make a hell of an obedience dog. He's in training like a "real" dog, but has the benefit of the couch instead of the dog lot at night.

Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Leroy(2004)
.
We bought Leroy from Seeley Lake 200 and Race to the Sky winner Tom Thurston to plug a hole on the 08 Can-Am 250 Team. He's been here ever since, and we're very happy with him.
Leroy is a wonderful dog, friendly and hard-working. He's always there for us, and always happy.
Now effectively retired, his main job is keeping Ollie busy.

Data
Lev(2004)
Alaskan's Lev of Anadyr
For the record, I did not name this dog. JP Norris and Kari Skogen named him after me, and he ended up at Team Ollie.
Lev is a very outgoing boy, goofy and seeks constant attention - wagging tail and all. He'll also pull a team off the straw at any point in the race. He's always happy to go, one of the many things we love about him.
Alaskan's Junior of Anadyr II
Alaskan's Rosie of Anadyr
Loke(2001)
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
To us, "race leader" is synonymous with Loke. He's been with us through thick and thin, the good trail and the bad. Every day, every time, he's eager to get hooked up.
He's produced a number of pups for us, and they all have his getup and go. He's also trained up most of his pups, and now has two more litters of his to train this coming season.
Alaskan's Meekur of Anadyr
Alaskan's Puff of Anadyr III
Ninilchik(2001)
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Ninilchik is a complete sweetheart - she's a quiet, fawning dog who likes nothing more than a pat on the side for a job well done. Ninilchik is an honest dog in harness, and it's difficult to tire her out. She was bred to Loke in 2007 and gave us Chevelle and the Ghost. We were so happy with that breeding we decided to repeat it twice - she gave us the whiskey litter and the Clash pups.
Alaskan's Mageik of Anadyr
Alaskan's Nena of Anadyr
Special(200?)
.
We purchased an older race leader from Raymond and Kevin Cook. She's a proven dog who took to us quite well. Exceptionally talented and well-behaved, we're very happy to have her.
Special was bred to Loke, and produced the nine Sin pups, monsters one and all. She's getting long in the tooth, but she still wants a spot on the team.
Kasee(2000)
Kraken's Kasee
Kasee was originally bred at Kraken kennel in Ontario. She is a little spitfire, and leaps straight up in the air when it's time to take off. Spectators have mentioned her level of motivation to me more than once. Kasee completed races as part of the main string. Kasee's main job in life now is puppy training and getting too much attention.
Kodiak's Merlin
Northome's Shelly
Bohr(2008)
Ollie's Bohr
Bohr is an incredibly playful (to the point of crazy) pup, and it transfers over to harness work - he drives HARD. Nothing seems to phase him - he seems completely oblivious to the world around him when he's working. He's got a nice and smooth gait, and gobs of speed. And he eats like nothing I've ever seen. He's our own bottomless pit.
Alaskan's Magoo of Anadyr
Chena of Nome
Ivan(2009)
Ollie's Ivan
The piebald terror - an expert in getting his way. A sizeable and strong boy, he's quite a motivated worker.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
KokaKola(2009)
Ollie's KokaKola
The only female in the Clash litter, she holds her own. Full of sass, snap, and uses all the calories going into her to do anything other than stand still.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
Cadillac(2009)
Ollie's Cadillac
Cadillac is a medium sized boy, a smooth mover, and very level headed. Works hard in harness (too hard sometimes), and will probably end up in front in the near future.
Alaskan's Loke of Anadyr
Alaskan's Ninilchik of Anadyr
The Sins(2009)
.
We bred Loke to Special right before we got married. This was an itch of curiosity that just needed to get scratched. So we did.
Special delivered nine healthy pups for us. It's tough to tell all the little buggers apart. The litter is named after the sins of catholic dogma, and we had to throw in some alternate sin names for sufficient nomenclature.
We now present Lust, Glutton, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride, Avarice, and Despair. We can tell the little buggers apart now, I just have to take some photos of them.
